Atlanta George
February 24, 2012 10:59 PM
On the way home from working all week in Pensacola, at the airport waiting for my first flight segment, I ran into George again! The guy I met on the way TO Pensacola who hooked me up with all those free drinks. He was apparently on the same flight as me back through Atlanta to get home.
Our flight was delayed heavily due to weather so we got to talking again. Mostly about nothing, interesting places we've visited, how I met Khine, how he took his Alzheimer-stricken father to Vegas, he even showed me his life platinum status cards with holiday inn, mariot, delta, etc, crazy how much he travels! He said he uses all his points to go to Europe for free twice a year to see concerts. He especially likes Amsterdam for their 'coffe shops', you know, the ones that don't really serve coffee :-)
In Atlanta both of our connecting flights were delayed again, by several hours! So of course we spent most of the time in the Sky Club again. After the never-ending flow of free drinks and conversation we finally exchanged business cards. And as we departed to our different gates, he remembered to give me one last thing, another coupon, it was a special voucher that gets you free drinks on Delta flights even if the flight is a regional commuter!

Who is this guy!? He's like the adult candyman of airports!

Sure enough his little coupon worked! I was able to get drinks on my delayed flight back to TRI, lol, in fact, I was the ONLY person drinking anything on that flight because like I said, it's a commuter flight, so Delta doesn't even have a beverage service for those.

In total, hanging out with George probably got me 20 FREE drinks. That is something else! You never know who you can run into at the airport so don't be afraid to open conversations sometimes!
