About:

I spend a lot of time in the basement for work, hobbies, and games. So I like it when my cats keep me company, so to give them more reason to stay down here, I've devised this creation. They love to sleep infront of windows and see the outside; down here in the basement I always have to put a box infront of the screen door, but not any more! With this I just open the door, pull down the shelf and the kitties can see the world!
Failed First Attempt:

This first design didn't work so well. It was very flimsy and wobbled with the slightest touch. It was mostly due to the main arm only having one undersized hinge. The cats will only sleep on sturdy surfaces so this design was a failure.

Functional 2nd Attempt:

This design proved much more functional. I made the main arm wider, gave it larger hinges all around, added a second support leg, and screwed it into the wall with larger screws. It's as solid as a rock now! It does the job and the kitties agree.

Folding States:
When it's folded up, the shelf part can be angled along side the wood door as to not block passage threw the screen door.
