About:

I thought I'd put together a little section outlining some of the various home improvements / modifications I've done around my apartment.
Some are pretty simple, and some area a bit more complicated, but either way, they are things that make home life just a little nicer.
Curved Shower Rod:

The inside of our shower once the curtain is closed is pretty small. You feel restricted and unable to move around
with out constaintly rubbing up againts the sides or the curtain. To make your shower feel bigger you can actually buy
curved shower rods that bow outward giving you more over head space. Problem is though, their expensive and my current
rod is integrated into the whole tub. So I made my own out of PVC pipe and bolted it to the top of the existing one!

Shoe Rack:

We have a tiny fourer closet. There's hardly enough room in there for the jackets and vaccum let alone the tons of shoes
we have. Remedy, a stylish shoe rack!

Wine Rack:

You can never have too much space in your refridgerator. Well just like our closet and shower, the fridge is pretty small too,
and it's always a pain to get to the things in the back, so I thought, why not stack? The resolution here is an in-the-fridge
wine rack.

Kitchen Sink Foot Pedal

This is deffinetly the most usefull and neatest of these home improvements. It was also the most difficult to implement. Basically I
installed a foot pedal to turn the hot water on and off so if both hands are dirty or if your washing dishes and only need the water
to rinse, you can start and stop the water effortlessly! I got the idea when I was looking around eBay and saw an electricly operated
solenoid valve. Well I just had to have it. To connect it I had to spend about 2 hours at Lowes trying to find the correct arrangement of
pipe fittings and adaptors to put the valve between the sink's input and the hot water main. For power I had to rip out the entire lower
portion of cabnets to get to the dishwasher where I was able to tap off it's electic splicing. The pedal is made from a paint mixing
spatula, a door hinge, a flashlight battery spring, and microwave limit switches.
