Black Widow Makes a PC its Home

10 / 27 / 08
There's a recycling area in the rear of the building at work and one of the containers is for computers and electronics. The latest PC I yanked out for canabalizing was a mess. It was crazy dirty and inside, covered with cob-webs. I was like, I'm just gonna throw this one back, but maybe I better grab the power supply first. Once I started unscrewing things, out of one of the cracks jumped a huge black widow! Yikes!

Don't let extremely venomous arachnids live in your computer, keep it out of the basement and dust it regularly.

Comment:     holy crap! What did you do with it? Kill it? I;ve never seen one in person (not that I want to find one in an unexpected place like that).

Comment:     did I kill it? I believe the order of events was: freaked out, screamed like a little girl, then beat it sensless. That first picture was taken after the merciless beating, then using a long stick I flipped it on its back so you could see the red orb.

Comment:     Can't say I blame you. Working at the farm has desensitized me to spiders - they crawl on me all of the time. But a black widow? Even the picture above kind of freaks me out.

Comment:     Wah...It's pretty though =) You know, I wouldn't be able to tell a black widow apart from all the other harmless ones.
