BinaryBedlam: Paducah, KY & Land Between the Lakes

This trip to Kentucky marks the first time I've ever had to travel for work for a reason other than training or project commissioning. I actually wrote up a testing and configuring procedure for one of our panel shops up in KY and was asked to go up there and actually over see, verify, and streamline their implementation of my procedure. I was only there for 2 days, but that night I visited downtown Paducah, which is another old city on the Mississippi River. It's a rustic antique-esque little town with about 6 square blocks of restored downtown walking area.
On the way home I thought I'd take a little detour. Instead of taking interstate 24 all the way, I took some back roads that lead me through a national forest called, The Land Between the Lakes. It's like an isolated penninsula created when the construction of a dam flooded 2 rivers cutting off a huge piece of land in the middle. After evacuating all inhabbitance, it was turned into a national park and wild life reffuge for displaced animals like great horned owles, elk, and bison.
